Your Words Show Ur Maturity

This morning, the preacher was Josia Abdisaputra from Jakarta. Well, in fact, this topic has already been quite "hot" recently.. Everywhere and by a lot of preachers, I always hear about this topic.. Just check it out.. in the end, I'll also give my own testimonial ^0^

One of the indicators that we are getting more mature as time goes by is our increasing ability to manage our words.

How to manage our words??

1. Talk at the right time.
--> Though we have the right words and the right purpose by saying sumting, if that's not said at the right moment, other people might be hurt or misunderstood, then it will lead to many kinds of disputes.
(Proverbs 25:11) "A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver."

2. Talk with the right and useful contents.
--> Then our words will be useful for other people, too. We can strengthen the weak people, raise the faith of depressed people, and many more.
(Isaiah 50:4) "The LORD has given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak. A word in season to him who is weary. He awakens me morning by morning, He awakens my ear to hear as the learned."

3. Talk with the right way.
--> An angry person will be softened if he faces tender person. (in bahasa "lemah lembut" gt laahh)
(Proverbs 15:1) "A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger."

4. Talk rightly.
--> Never swear! Just have your integrity and you'll get trust from the others.
(James 5:12) "But above all, my brethren, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or with any other oath. But let your "Yes" be "Yes", and your "No", "No", lest you fall into judgment."


Then, after we do managing our words, then, there will be these good effects:

1. Have good and mutual relationships
(Proverbs 22:11) "He who loves purity of heart and has grace in his lips, the King will be his friend."
From that verse, you see that the King Himself like to be the friend of one who has grace in his lips. Then, moreover the subordinates of the King, moreover other common people, they will like to have good relationship with us.

2. Have integrity which will build our good image
(James 5:12) "But above all, my brethren, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or with any other oath. But let your "Yes" be "Yes", and your "No", "No", lest you fall into judgment."
Back to this verse again, you know, if you have your integrity, you'll get trust from all people surrounds you.
For example, if you are the owner of 2nd hand car showroom. Supposed, there is a person who is really attracted to buy a car in ur showroom, and he's going to open his check. And his last question before signing the check is "has this car ever been crashed before??" and in fact, yes, it was crashed, and you know about that. what will you say???
The Bible says let your "Yes" be "Yes", and your "No", "No"!!
Then, it means that you have to say the reality. Of course, for short term period, there is a possibility that the buyers in your showroom will decrease. But for a long term, there will be a time when everyone will like to buy in your showroom! Coz you always say what is good as good and what is bad as bad.

3. Change the bad conditions to be good ones
(Proverbs 12:25) "Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression. But a good word makes it glad."
Now you know that you are not allowed to be anxious. Just think and say the good things, and every good thing will come into your life. Why and how?? It is because we are the human created by God, according to the the image of God Himself. --> "Imago Dei" --> our God has power in His words, and we (if we really live in holiness and have the pleasure of God) also have that power, too, in our words!!!
Well, it's just the same as the note that I posted last week, there is power in our mouth, in our words. Say positive things, say words that reverse the bad thing to be good thing, say "I'm blessed by the Lord, I'm loved by the Lord, I believe that there are huge things and miracles in my life" --> it will happen, cause our Lord is a wonderful God that likes to give goodness and blessings to all people that He loves and live according to His Words.

In fact, I know that there are people who do not believe in it (they are so sarcastic and cynical in hearing that "in our words, there is power"). I do not say that I am right and they are wrong. There is no right and wrong here. But what you believe shows what happen in your life. If you do not believe that there is power in your words, it also shows simultaneously, that in your life, you are never doing wonderful things with God by using your power in your mouth!
Actually, there is also another possibility, you've tried to say the positive things (hoping that it'll really happen), but in fact, it's not happenning. Do you know why you failed?
I tell you, it means that your life has not got the pleasure of God (in bahasa "belum menyenangkan and memperkenankan Tuhan)! You have to do introspection and see how do you live your life!
Do you live differently from un-christian people? or just the same as them?
do you like to go to discotheques?
do you like to do useless things in your life?
do you smoke?
do you swear?
do you get drunk and intoxicated?
do you still like to say useless words? or even the negative words?
do you like to think of cruel things?

Well, that's already clearly stated in Bible that you're not allowed to swear, to say useless and negative words or to think of cruel things, but I know that in Bible there is no prohibition to go to discotheques, to do useless things in your life, to smoke, to get drunk and intoxicated, but, come on Guys!!! if you say you're the follower of Christ, then (it's stated in Bible) it also means that your Body is the holy temple of GOD!!
Can you imagine that the holy temple of God is going to discotheques, doing useless things, smoking, swearing, getting drunk and intoxicated????? IS THAT HOLY???????


sadar guys... sadar!!!!!

I'm not saying that I'm holy. But I'm in process to be holy as the future bride of God. I want to share my story.

Last Friday afternoon (5 pm), I was so hungry, but I was sitting here, in front of my computer, browsing data for my assignment and competition. It made me so lazy to get up from my seat and to get my dinner (But at that time I've already been so hungry, and perutku keroncongan nymp bunyi2).. But I was still not moving until almost midnite (11 pm).. at 11, then, I walked to the dining room and checking 4 food. There's only left a little food (cuma sisa siomay, perkedel, ama sup sayur gt), and I was also lazy to eat rice. Then, I just ate very little, and my stomach still felt hungry. But, after that, I ate the stringent cough medicine (my throat was not good because I had eaten too many crackers in the morning).. Then, you know what??
at 00.30 am, I woke up and felt my gastro was so acid. then I made a cereal to drink, but it's not helping. I could not really sleep that night. Then, very early in the morning, at 5 am, I got up again, and really could not help to stay sick. I checked in the refrigerator, and got a cake to be eaten. But it's not helping at all!
After that, I told my servant to cook, then I had my breakfast. I thought, if I ate a lot, then my gastro would get better.. But you know what happened????
I poured out, all of my food.. and the whole day I was really weak and could not stay away from a bottel of warm water (ditempelin di dada gt, di bagian deket mag, biar ga sbrapa sakit)..

finally at saturday nite, I said to God, "God, I could not stand like this. I know that it was my fault, I did not eat when I should eat. I'm asking 4 ur apologize, and I'll not repeat it again.. My gastro gets so acid and felt queasy for the whole day.. And I also know that usually, my gastro only gets better the fastest is in several days (the fastest, I need 4 days to get well from gastro irritation like this)... But Lord, you know, tomorrow I need to do my assignments. And I also need to prepare everything for my competition. I need to get well tomorrow. And I believe tomorrow I'll get well." ~~ and I pray in the name of Jesus.

And you know, after saying it, not waiting until the next day, my gastro suddenly gets really well. And I Thx Lord, He's given the new well gastro for me..
today??I can eat very normally...

hmm... in fact, there are many many many more examples of power in our words. But I've got to go now.. Need to start doing my assignment, unless it wont be finished tomorrow..
